Small Update on Inkventpocalypse & this Blog
Hello Inky friends, I want to write a little something to say I have Day 12 photographed, but when I went to start typing the post up, I was just hit with a wave of ... ennui. It's hard to do something fully optional, self inflicted and wholly consumptive during waves hands helplessly ... times like these.
However, I feel deeply that doing small things to stay sane, to create, to keep some semblance of humanity in these dark moments is not unwarranted. It feels exceedinly strange to discuss paint, ink, and tea when the majority of my closest friends and chosen family, my community, the people who care for myself and others in health care, the people who do the things we don't or can't do are being targeted.
The *vents are already purchased, at least three of which were purchased from small shops or makers who are run by or employ many people who are of targeted groups. If it's not obvious, this is a US based blog, and I reside in the US. I cannot separate my hobbies from my politics and my world, they are all connected. I try to focus beyond one specific country when providing links and information (stationery is global, after all), but I cannot help but be affected by my location.
I don't know what I'm trying to say, more that I'm still here, I still have swatches & teas to discuss and I will keep doing so as I can. I've taken some time off for my physical health and then a little bit longer for my mental/emotional health. It's been a rough 2026 already and I don't see it getting easier, so I'm here to provide a bit of creative nonsense for you, moving forward.
Thanks for sticking with me & letting me ramble a bit. I'll be posting Day 12 of Inkventpocalypse Sunday 25 January 2026 (tomorrow).
Side note: I've been finding a lot of joy in the little desktop app Buns & Poops by Flufflop found on itch.io (link: https://flufflop.itch.io/bunsandpoops ) for a bit of a distraction. It's a sweet little game that is made with a clear love for bunnies. (not affiliated, just been eagerly awaiting the game's release)
